Online/Offline Instructions

To use this program, simply run the file "offline.exe" that was downloaded.

If you want the program to run all the time, put a shortcut to offline.exe in the startup folder of the start menu.

The icon in the system tray indicates the global online/offline state.  A yellow wire means that there is not a live internet connection.  A red 'x' means that the computer is set to "work offline."

Online     Online
The computer is online with an active internet connection.
Offline     Offline
The browser is working offline, but there is live internet connection.
Online - Disconnected    Online - Disconnected
The browser is set to use online mode, but there is no internet connection available.
Offline - Disconnected    Offline - Disconnected
The browser is set to work offline, and there is no internet connection available.

For Advanced Users:

Online offline has four registry values at HKCU\Software\Glires\Offline

ForceOffline
Same as "Save State."  Determines whether the program will read the other registry values.
1=True
0=False
Offline
1=offline
0=online
ForceOffline
Same as "Enforce State."
1=True
0=False
IntervalMs
Determines how often (in milliseconds) the program will update the icon or enforce the offline state.
